Ragi Malt


Ragi malt, also known as finger millet malt, is a nutritious traditional beverage made from ragi, a whole grain widely consumed in South India and parts of Africa. It’s valued for its high calcium, iron, fiber, and essential amino acids, making it an excellent health drink for all age groups—especially children, lactating mothers, and the elderly.

Ragi's naturally a gluten free grain rich in antioxidants, supporting heart health. It is extremely rich in calcium strengthening bones and preventing osteoporosis,also good for weight loss.

Ingredients

  1. 2 tbsp ragi flour
  2. 1/2 cup + 1 cup water
  3. 1 tbsp jaggery powder
  4. 1/2 cup milk
  5. 1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

Step 1

1 Take the ragi flour in a bowl.

2 Add 1/2 cup water and mix well so that no lumps are there. Keep aside.

3 Now heat 1 cup water in a bowl.

4 Once it reaches boiling point add the prepared ragi mixture and mix well so that no lumps are formed.

Step 5

5 Now simmer the mixture till it becomes smooth and glossy.Add the jaggery powder and mix well.

6 Now add the milk and mix well.

7 Add the cardamom powder and simmer for a minute and remove from the stove.

8 Cool down a bit, pour in a glass and serve.
