Ingredients

  1. 1 cup foxtail millet(soaked into water 4-5 hours)
  2. 1/2 cup green peas
  3. 1 medium tomato roughly chopped
  4. 1 green onion finely chopped
  5. 1 tsp ginger ginger garlic paste
  6. 1 green Chilli roughly chopped
  7. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  8. 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  9. 1/2 tsp Chilli flakes
  10. 1 tsp salt
  11. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  12. 2 tbsp oil
  13. 2.5 cup water
  14. 1 tbsp mint and coriander leaves

Instructions

Step 1

Ready all ingredients at a place. In a pressure cooker add oil and heat it.add cumin seeds and crackled for 30 seconds. Add chopped onion with green parts and cook for 1 minute.

Step 2

When onion turn light brown add ginger garlic paste and cook for 30-40 seconds. Add tomato and green chillies.cook again for a minute. Tomatoes turn little soft add turmeric powder, chilli flakes, pepper powder and salt. Mix well.
cook till the tomatoes turn soft.

Step 3

Add green peas and little amount of water, give a stir and cook on high flame for 2 minutes. The oil has released. Add the soaked foxtail millets.

Step 4

Add water,chopped coriander and mint leaves. Stir well and pressure cook for 1 whistle on high flame then turn the flame low and cook for 3 whistle. Allow to Release pressure naturally. The tahri is ready. Dish out,garnish with coriander leaves add some ghee and enjoy the healthy tahri.
