Ragi Appe is a nourishing millet-based version of the traditional South Indian appe, prepared using ragi and wholesome ingredients. Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup ragi flour
  2. 1/2 cup suji (rava)
  3. 1/4 cup rice flour
  4. 2 tbsp wheat flour
  5. 1/2 cup curd
  6. 1 big carrot grated
  7. 1 onion finely chopped
  8. 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  9. 1/2 tsp Chilli flakes
  10. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  11. 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
  12. 1 tsp dry mint leaves
  13. 1 tsp salt
  14. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  15. 2 tbsp oil
  16. 1.5 cup water approximately

Instructions

Step 1

Take all flour. In a mixing bowl add all flour mix them. add curd and mix well.

Step 2

Add 1 cup water mix very well that there has no lumps in the batter. Add grated carrot and chopped onion.

Add all powder spices and crushed dry mint leaves. Mix again and cover it. Keep aside for 30 minutes. Now add baking powder mix and add 1/2 cup water to make a pouring consistency batter. Pour 1 tbsp batter in each mould. Add few drops of oil in each.

Step 4

Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes on low to medium flame when it cooked flip it and add some oil and cook from other side till they turn golden brown. Serve with peanut chutney.
