Ingredients

  • 1 cup jowar (Sorghum)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh coconut
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 chopped green chilli
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 6 curry leaves
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 chopped carrot
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 3 tsp peanut
  • 1 /2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 tsp asafoetida
  • 4 cup water
  • 1 cup masala curd

Instructions

Step 1

Use The Fresh Start Wellness Cafe's White Sorghum Rice (Jowar Rice) for this recipe.
Soaked the whole jowar overnight in enough water.Nextday drain all the water.Add 4 cup water and salt in in pressure cooker.And pressure cook for five whistle allowed the steam to escape before opening the lid keep the cooked whole Jowar aside.

Heat the ghee in a nonstick pan. mustard seeds and cumin seeds when the seeds crackle add1 tsp asafoetida and cinnamon stick and add green chilli and peanut and sesame seeds saute for 2 minute.

Step 3

Then add chopped onion and tomato carrot mix well andadd2 tsp red powder turmeric powder and Garam Masala and1 tsp lemon juice and add cooked jowar and add water mix well and cook on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes till water driesup stirring it.

Step 4

Now healthy masaledar Khichdi is ready.And transfer to a serving bowl and decorate with onion green chilli green coriander leaves and serve with masala curd. Eat and Enjoy with family. Enjoy!!!
