Jowar Bajra Flour Chamchamiya is a healthy recipe prepared with jowar flour, bajra flour, vegetables, herbs, spices, and other wholesome ingredients. Rich in dietary fibre, protein, iron, calcium, and essential nutrients, it provides a nourishing and satisfying breakfast or snack option while delivering the wholesome goodness of millets in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup millet flour(bajra flour)
  • 1/2 cup sorghum flour(jowar flour)
  • 1/2 cup chopped fenugreek leaves (methi)
  • 1/2 cup chopped spinach
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander
  • 2 spring onions, chopped along with the leaves/ dried onions(depends on season)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green or dried garlic (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon crushed ginger and chili
  • 3 tbspoons of curd
  • 1 tsp ajwain seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 pinch asafoetida
  • 1 tablespoons oil for moin
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1.1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup Ghee/oil for frying(as required)
  • 1 tablespoons sesame seeds

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, wash, dry and chop all the green leafy vegetables, spring onions, green garlic. Now sift both the flours, add all the ingredients as mentioned above and prepare a slightly thick batter by adding water to it.

Step 2

Now add the baking soda and mix it. Heat nonstick tawa on medium flame. Now apply ghee and spread some sesame seeds on it. Reduce the flam and spread the batter on the sesame seeds in the pan with a spoon. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on up side too.

Step 3

Now cover it with a lid and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. Then apply ghee on the edges, turn it over and press it a little. And cover it and cook in the same way. In this way, fry both sides with ghee or oil.

Step 4

Jowar bajra flour chamchamiya is ready. It can be served with curd and pickle or with tea.Note: you can swap or skip any leafy veggies.
