Little Millet Bisi Bele Bath is a healthy millet-based version of the classic South Indian one-pot meal, prepared using little millet and traditional ingredients. Ingredients

  1. 1 cup little millet
  2. 1 cup arhar dal
  3. 1 tsp salt
  4. 1/2 tsp haldi powder
  5. 1 tsp oil

For Masala..

  1. 1 tbsp desi ghee
  2. 1 tbsp chana dal
  3. 1 tbsp urad dal
  4. 1 tsp sesame seeds
  5. 1 tsp posto dana
  6. 1/2 tsp methi
  7. 1/2 tsp sabit kali mirch
  8. 5 laung
  9. 1 tbsp sabit dhania
  10. 1 inch dalchini
  11. 1/2 tsp jeera
  12. 1 tbsp dedicated coconut
  13. 15 curry leaves
  14. 4 dry red chilli

For Tadka.

  1. 2 tbsp oil
  2. 3 tbsp desi ghee
  3. 1/2 tsp rai
  4. 3 dry red chilli
  5. 1/4 tsp hing
  6. 1 tbsp raw peanuts or any
  7. 10 curry leaves
  8. 1/2 tsp haldi powder
  9. 1/2 cup chopped onion
  10. 1 cup chopped tomato
  11. 1 tsp salt
  12. 1 tsp imli paste

Veggies..

  1. 1/2 tsp small diced aloo
  2. 1/2 cup small diced carrot
  3. 1/4 cup matar
  4. 4 gobhi florets
  5. 1/4 cup chopped beans
  6. 1/2 cup small diced green bell pepper
  7. 2 tbsp desi ghee
  8. 10 kaju
  9. 8 curry leaves

Instructions

Step 1

Take a mixing bowl, add little millet & dal, mix it well, wash it, soak in water for 10 minutes, strain it, keep aside.

Step 2

Take a pressure cooker, add millet khichdi, salt, haldi powder, oil & 4 cup water, place the lid, give 4 whistles on high flame, lower the flame, cook it for 5 minutes.

Turn off the flame, allow it to depressurize naturally, open the lid after 10 minutes. Keep aside.

For Masala.... Take a pan, add ghee, heat it, in goes dals, fry it for 30 sec. Add all the ingredients one by one, stir fry it until brown

Turn off the flame, allow it to cool down, grind it to a fine powder, keep aside.

For Tadka.... Take a big wok, add oil & ghee, heat it, in goes rai, hing & dry red chilli, saute it for 30 sec.

Step 7

Add in peanuts, curry leaves & haldi powder, mix it well, in goes onion, stir fry it until light brown.

Step 8

Now add tomato & salt, mix it well, in goes all the veggies, stir fry it for a minute, cook it covered on low flame for 2 minutes.

Step 9

Open the lid, add 2 tbsp powdered masala, stir fry it for 2 minutes.
Mix imli with 1/2 cup water, add in masala, mix it well.

Step 10

In goes cooked khichdi, mix it well. Add 2 cup hot water, mix it well, give a boil, cook it on low flame for 5 minutes, can add more water if required. Add rest of the masala, mix it well, cook it for a minute, turn off the flame.
Take out in a serving bowl, keep aside. Take a tadka pan, add ghee, heat it, in goes kaju, saute it until light brown, turn off the flame, add curry leaves, cook it in hot ghee for 30 sec. Pour it over cooked dish.
