Ragi–Red Rice Halwa is a nourishing millet-based dessert prepared using fiber-rich ragi, wholesome red rice, jaggery, and aromatic cardamom. Ingredients

  • 150 gm Finger Millet/Ragi flour
  • 120 gm red rice soaked for 4 hours
  • 100 gm ghee
  • 150 gm jaggery powder/melted if in chunks
  • Handful almonds sliced fine
  • 1 Tb ground green cardamom powder

Instructions

Step 1

Use The Fresh Start Wellness Cafe's Finger Millet Rava for this recipe.
Strain the rice soaked completely and dry toast on a non stick pan for 8-10 minutes on medium heat.

Step 2

Let cool and dry grind it into fine powder.

Step 3

Melt the ghee in a non stick wok/pan on Low flame.

Step 4

Add the rice and Ragi flours and blend well and sauté for 5-7 minutes on Low heat.

Step 5

Add the cardamom powder and jaggery. Mix well and take off heat.

Step 6

Serve warm/ at room temperature garnished with almonds.
