Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole Bajra (soaked at whole night)
  • 1/2 cup soaked moong dal
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 chopped green chilies
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1/4 cup peanuts
  • 1/4 cup grated carrots
  • 1 cup chopped methi leaves
  • 7-8 curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 1:4 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tbsp asafoetida
  • 1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tbsp salt or according to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander

Instructions

Step 1

Use The Fresh Start Wellness Cafe's Pearl Millet Rice (Bajra Rice) for this recipe.
In pressure cooker add soaked Bajara and soaked moong dal add turmeric powder and salt and cook it for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Heat a pan add oil add mustard seeds,cumin seeds, when it cracked add asafoetida,curry leaves,green chilies,chopped onion chopped garlic and soute it for 30 seconds.

Step 3

Add peanuts,grated carrots and chopped methi leaves, soute it for 30 seconds.

Step 4

Add cooked Bajara and moog dal,add chilli powder,,salt, pepper turmeric powder.and mix it well,cook it for 5 minutes.add ghee and ready your bajara khichadi garnish with coriander and grated coconut and serve hot.
